Clean, wide and long spaces, very good roads getting there and the sites are level. It doesn't have any playthings except a fishing pond, but there is good cable TV and WI-Fi. The only thing on the down side is like others have said, the office isn't always manned. However, I didn't have to wait long before someone showed up the the front and checked me in. If there are a lot of live-ins, then they all have very nice rigs. I would say this is the best place in the Montgomery area.

This could have been just as easily a 10. I had heard of this campground for years and just never stopped. This time I did and I am glad. This will give us another place to stay on the way east. The staff is friendly and helpful, the sites and well laid out and the view is unique. Liked watching the barge traffic on the river at night and I thought even the entry road was good looking. I would recommend this campground to anyone from popups to motorhomes travelling near Memphis.

I'm not sure why you would grade down this park. The sites were level, the roads just fine and the people in the office were very helpful. We came in without reservation and they had two large rallies in here and still found us a spot for the passport rate. The ladies in the office not only gave us suggestions on site seeing and restaurants, but gave me directions on how to avoid heavy traffic when leaving. We got great service and had a good view of the river and watched the barge traffic. The cable TV was adequate, however, the Wi-Fi was weak, but they were working on that. I would gladly use this spot again and recommend it.

Very clean and the sites are level. Pull thrus that are easy to hit and great Wi-Fi and cable. Not hard to find and the entrance roads are divided highway. Right across the street from the beach (you can walk there), just up the road ( 3 miles) from the casinos and eating establishments. The biggest advantage is the management, which is some of the friendliest I have encountered.

As usual, I can't find anything wrong with a COE park and this one is among the best I've stayed at. A bit of a jaunt to get there. Only 3 miles from I-40, but several turns. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this place, not a bad site in the park. Also I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.

I guess this could be a 9 1/2 with the Wi-Fi being sometimes slow, however those things don't mean that much to us. This park is very clean, quiet and reasonably priced. We have already made our reservations for next year. This park can be a bit tight, but manageable. The manager is very helpful and friendly, there is a trolley stop on the premises and it's handy to all the attractions. I would definitely recommend this park and it's a passport park (one of the better ones).

Best campground in Dodge City. Pros: easy to find, easy to manuever, nice long, level sites. Good hookups, excellent Wi-Fi and friendly hosts. Only negative I could find is it seems a bit pricey. Road and train noise is not noticeable. The park is easy to access, therefore close to a road with some traffic. Did not hear trains unless I was outside. If in this area, I will always choose this park.

The rate is Passport America with all the extras (cable TV and 50 amp) and you can't beat this for an overnight stop. The lady in the office is very helpful and friendly and it's located on historic Route 66 next to a home-owned restaurant. We will use this while coming and going on I-40.

This is not a resort, but it certainly is better than other overnight spots we have used. If you wanted to explore the OKC area, this isn't a bad park. It's very easy to get to and to maneuver. The sites are long and level. The cable was okay until the cable company had a problem. The Wifi worked most of the time. The pool was clean, and when we were inside we didn't notice any noise from I-40. I wouldn't hesitate to use this park anytime in the area.

There are no negatives to this park. It's an overnight park while going down 287 and everything is what you need. Easy maneuvering, long level sites, full hookups, cable, Wi-Fi, swimming pool, laundry and a breakfast. I have stayed here twice and will always use it when in the neighborhood.

As stated by others, the owners are very friendly and it is easy to find. The sites are level enough and unlike some of the other reviewers, I really didn't notice the mobile homes unless I hunted them and they weren't that bad. They could use better water pressure and the interior roads need some work, but they aren't so bad you have to worry about it. They were working on the campground in adding some planters and other eye candy. I would recommend it to anyone needing a place in this part of Missouri.

This park is the reason we like COE campgrounds. It is well maintained, quiet, the sites are level, the hook ups work, very easy to maneuver into and out of the sites and there is enough shade that it even helped with the Texas summer sun. The rate reflects a senior discount and we will always come back to this park.

This is probably the quietest RV park, I've been to. Very well maintained and clean. There are quiet a few long term campers here, but the rigs are immaculate. As previous reviewers have stated, they do go over the rules with you at check in. However, I didn't find it offensive, in fact it was common sense rules and some information about the park. For instance they do have quiet high water pressure, so one needs to put the regulator on their hydrant or even you hose will swell. They are adamant about the rules, but as stated they live on the property and it is not only a campground, but their home. The staff is very friendly and they do drive around in the golf cart during the evening, but I don't think they are spying on you, just checking things out. This is a great place to stay in the Oklahoma City area. All the sites are easy to back into. Good WIFI and easy to set up your satellite. They do honor Passport America, however, be advise that the first night is regular rate, no matter which discount is used and then the discount kicks in on the second night. Not a bad idea.

This is a good deal if you are a Passport America member. This rate is for 50 amps. The sites were level, the check in people are nice and the roads to it aren't that bad. In fact, they were smoother than I-40. When in this area, one can't beat this park for the rate.

Maneuvering is very easy, the sites are relatively level, all the hookups work, the dump station is easy to use and even in the Texas heat, there was enough shade to keep things reasonable. This is a campground I will always return to.

I love COE campgrounds because they usually well maintained and easy to maneuver. This one is beginning to show some serious signs of age and is in need of TLC. The main road to the gate is bad enough, but the interior road is almost to the point of falling apart. The sites are still nice enough, but need some updating, cleaning and re-levelling. If you have a rig larger than 30' you probably want to stay with sites #34,#35,#37 and #38 only. The workampers at the park are among the very best and will make you feel welcome. It is very quiet on a peninsula at Lake Texoma and enjoyable. I would camp here again, however, the state park nearby is in much better condition and has full hookups. Also be careful when exiting the park as there is a lot of junky vehicles and trailers parked just outside the gate and they block you view of oncoming traffic from the north.

Great little park. Owner is very friendly and helpful. It's quiet and near Branson. Wi-Fi works very good and the view of the mountain valley out the back of our trailer was great. For PA members this is great value and even at full price this is a good buy in this area. Definitely would stay here again.

Not a bad park for business in the area. Seem to be quite a few workers in the park, but everything is up to date and cleaned up. The little lake is nice and the hostess is very cordial and easy to work with. It's on a major highway but far enough off the road to quiet. Arrived after a heavy rain, so it probably didn't have on its best face, but you can tell it's above average. Good Wi-Fi and the price is right. The rate quoted is for Passport America and this is one of the nicer PA parks.

This is in the quiet Nueces River Canyon and I can't say enough good about it. The only thing lacking is WiFi, but that's not a problem. Drive into Camp Wood(4 miles) and you can hit a spot. The only thing some people won't like is an absence of Wal-Marts and Restaurants for about 35 miles. However, it's quiet, beautiful and the hosts are very accomodating. The sites are easy to get into and level. It is great for families, the kids have plenty of activities (sand volleyball, outdoor basketball, driving range, putting green and plenty of room to run) and if you like fishing, the Nueces is good. Also if you like tubing the river, this is a great spot. We will definitely be back to this one.

Very interesting for a COE park. It's small and right in town. However, it's surprising quiet and has plenty of shade. There are some full hookup sites and some pull throughs. The majority, however, are water and electricity only. It's very easy to find and maneuver. One would almost need a reservation during weekends and holidays because it's so accessible that it fills up quickly.

If you have business in the area, this is the place. It isn't a resort with activities, but it is a clean, well-secured place to park. It is fenced with cable TV and Wi-Fi signal. It's fairly new. Only drawbacks is the lack of shade, but that will come as the trees grow and all the sites are back ins. Most of them are very long, however, is some areas the road is a bit tight and requires some maneuvering.

The staff is great, the sites are big enough and level, there is plenty enough room to move. The noise off I-10 isn't noticeable and even with the amount of campers in the park, is really very quiet. Boerne has some interesting shopping and eating, also, you are close enough to San Antonio to run in for easy day trips. Might want to pay attention on which exit to use to get there. The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 was it can be a bit pricey. The listed discount rate of $29.10 went up a bit when I got there. Not a big thing.

It's amazing how nice the COE parks can be. This one is very nice. The sites are well spaced and easy to get into. Everything is very manicured. Located within good distance from the amenities of New Braunfels and north San Antonio. Quiet beauty and a deer herd that visits the park. Highly recommend this park. The rate is for the senior discount.

It's hard to find anything wrong with this campground. The sites are level, well-laid out easy to maneuver into and out of. Best of all the place is very pretty and the staff is the friendliest you will ever meet. Even the most narrow-minded of reviewers will have trouble finding anything wrong with this place. It's in a pecan grove above a clear running Hill Country stream and in an area that is loaded with sightseeing opportunities. Also I might add that this was the quietest campground I have stayed in.

I like the Texas State Parks, however, they are beginning to show some age and it seems there isn't enough money to modernize them. This one is very small but out of the way and quiet. One word of caution. If you have a trailer or fifth wheel over 30 feet, there is only one loop of campsites that you can get into and even then some of those sites require some careful maneuvering. Here as in every other state park, the ranger and office workers are among the best and are very cordial.

This park is probably very pretty when the trees are green and the grass is growing, so it can be a bit stark in the winter. However, it is clean, the staff and campers are cordial and it's well located for seeing things in the area. One can walk to downtown Bandera for the shops and restaurants. Sites could be a bit more level. As far as permanents, there is a sign in the office that states that this is not a residential park. It may be a tad short of a resort, but it's not so far away that I would avoid the park. In fact, I believe I would use this park anytime.

Here's a hidden gem. It's right next to the municipal park and golf course and run by the city. They got it right. The sites are enormous and level. The pull thru I was in was long enough for a motorhome, it's towed and probably another vehicle. If you like golf, you are right next to the 2nd hole and 3rd tee. Also you get a discount on golf for staying in the park. The Llano River is next to the park if you like to fish, the city park has a pool within a few yards of the park and if security is you worry, then the Llano Police department is located on the premises. You also are in a location to explore the Hill Country. You can't beat this place for the price.

This is another of the great East Texas state parks. It's very similar to Tyler and Dangerfield, and you can't beat the price for full hookups and beauty. Also the staff here is quite possibly some of the nicest I've encountered at the state parks. They really make you feel comfortable and welcome. This is great for just camping out in the beautiful piney woods and relaxing. I definitely will be back here.

Was very easy to find and enter and exit. The sites are level and long enough. The office was easy to work with. I checked in before office hours and used their envelopes and everything went smooth. It's right behind a dealership, so if you need something or just want to browse the new units, it's handy. Just off US 75 but not really noisy. Several workers living in the park, but all those rigs are very well cared for and everything is neat.

This is a very beautiful park. Trees, Trails and Trout is the slogan here and they have them all. The mountains are nice and the river inviting. It is a big higher than most State Parks when you consider it doesn't have sewer hookups and no 50 amps, however it is appealing. Go here during the week and it's fairly quiet. It fills up quickly on the weekend and it's mostly first come, first serve. For big rigs the A loop and some in the B loop (which are reservable, but one will have to call 14 days in advance) will do just fine. The C loop and most of F loop will require a shoe horn and some axle grease to get in the sites and negotiate the roads with anything larger than 30 feet. Will definitely go here again and recommend it to any and all.

I must say that I have stayed here several times, and find the previous reviews on the owners a bit misleading. Quiet people sometimes are labeled as unfriendly, however, if one talks to them they find them quite the opposite. This isn't a destination park, however, it is as good as any for overnights and business in the area. It's clean, level and safe. I also have found that after engaging them in conversation, that the owners are as friendly as anyone.

If you are on US-70 and happen to be through or near Floydada, then this is the place to stay. Sites are level there is 30 amp, water and a dump station. Even the newest driver can hit these pull-throughs. Wi-fi is strong and the price can't be beat. It's free for two nights and $5 a night thereafter for five days. It's right next to the city swimming pool.

Fairly new park. Very level sites with concrete pad to park on. All hookups easy and in proper place. Very nice pool and small private lake (pond really) with a lot of fish in it. It was hot when were here, but it's probably nicer in the fall. Some problems with the Wi-Fi, but it finally came up and it was a good signal. It's near I-35, but really didn't notice any noise. If you're not going to the state park nearby this is a very good spot. There is a parts store on the property, which is handy.

This is the high desert so it will be dusty, but not unbearable. The price was right, the staff was friendly, the sites level and everything worked. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I'm sure one can find a park that is paved and landscaped, but that wasn't necessary to us. Clean, safe, pleasant. Will use again.

A bit tight backing in, but not a big problem and there isn't any Wi-Fi. However, this is a pleasant place, high on the hill, full hookups and very friendly people. Close enough to Ruidoso to run in and see everything, very close to a western dinner show and a good staff. Would recommend this park to all. Not many spaces, so you would need to call for reservations.

It was clean and pleasing. The staff was courteous. I did have to level somewhat and yes there was noise from the interstate. However, when you go to a park that is within one mile of the interstate, one should expect this. It was easy to manuever and there were several big rigs in the park. Swimming pool was clean and the store was nice. I definitely would recommend this park to anyone going up and down I-40 in central Tennessee.

This place is headed for being one of the better ones on I-30 when traveling through Arkansas. It's not far from the Interstate, so there is some noise, but I keep my doors shut. The new owner is putting in several improvements and work is going on all over the park. We checked in without a reservation and he found a place for us and another traveler. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Full hooksups and cable and what looks like a brand new swimming pool, makes this place a great stop over. If it keeps getting popular, one might need to call ahead for reservations.

This is a very good overnight park. It has easy access. When the trees put on all their leaves it probably looks even better. The hosts were very nice and about the main thing it will need is improved interior roads.

Easy to find, level sites, wide pull thrus, free Wi-Fi and quiet. What else could you ask for in a resort town?

Still one of the best in the Hill Country. Easy to get in any of the sites. The check-in crew is very helpful and pleasant. Good access to the Frio River for fishing, tubing, kayaking or even wading. This is a good place to get away from it all. As an added bonus it honors Passport America and you can't beat those rates.

This campground has now changed it's name to Columbus KOA. We turned off just to check it out and were glad we did. It's very neat and clean. Also the sites are long pull thrus and you won't need to unhook. The WIFI works good and the owners are very accomodating. WE definitely recommend this park for a stopover or if you have business along I-10.

I have passed this campground several times, and finally stopped for the night, and I'm glad I did. Very friendly host, and some of the largest and easiest backins I've seen. Good place for overnight or exploring the area. The PA rate gets you a good sized backin, and if you want to got the full rate there are some nice pull thrus near the river. WiFi is free not too hard to get a signal. Easy to get to and the park roads are very wide.

This is a winter Texan haven. There are a lot of park models for rent and many have visitors from all over the northern tier of states and Canada. The permanent models are extremely well manicured and cared for. The RV sites are all back in and can be a bit tight, but your neighbors are all accommodating and will help anyone get in and set up. The streets are wide and the place is gated and is shutdown at 8 p.m. Residents have the code to the gate if you go out at night. This typical of many of the RGV parks and it certainly is one of the top ones. There are many activities in the park if that is what you look for and it is situated in the middle of the Valley so one can explore in either direction in an hour or less drive. The only drawback is the WiFi signal. You have to go to the activity areas to get a signal, which isn't all that bad because some of us need to walk. We will definitely use this one again and recommend it to anyone going to the Valley.

An older CCC built park, but it's beautiful. The only thing you have to watch are the narrow roads. It only has 10 sites that can handle the modern larger MHs and 5th wheels, but they are full hookups and only two of them would require some extra care in getting into. The front office personnel are very helpful and the Ranger is friendly. Good fishing in the small lake and the views from your campsite are great.

A bit hard to find and small, but clean and the sites are level concrete. The lady running it is very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a place to stay while exploring the area north of Dallas, this place will do it. If you are looking for a resort with swimming pools, etc. then this isn't it. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here when in the area and recommend it to others. Be sure to call for reservations because with only 7 sites it stays full and you will need directions. It's just off Texas 5, but the entrance is easy to miss.

It was hot, but dry air kept it bearable for July. The view is great, and going to see Texas and the meal before hand made it worth the whole trip. Was a bit worried about the 10% grade going down and coming back out, but it wasn't a problem. The sites were easy to get into and there is even a little store in the bottom of the canyon that serves a very good hamburger. The scenery makes this park and would definitely go back.

The is a very quiet park and I have stayed in it before. The walk along the small creek is very refreshing on a hot day. Also love the deer wandering through the campground.

I hadn't been to this park in over 5 years and it was hard to believe that this was the same park. The place has had a great face-lift and is a very pretty park. Very quiet and easy to get into. I used a satellite for TV and after finding a opening in the trees had good reception. There are a lot of things to see and do in the area. Also if you have children or grandchildren, there is quite a bit of activities in the campground. The office staff was very helpful and pleasant. It might be a bit pricey for some, but you do get what you pay for. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a fairly new park but beautifully done. It's very easy to find and to maneuver. Sites were clean, well spaced, very manicured and level. This is a great place to stay while visiting the area. Only a few miles south of Houston and very near Galveston Island. There will be some noise from I45 because the park is on the service road. That's about the only drawback. Looks like a good place for a rally with a very nice activity room.

This is one of the better parks we have stayed in. It is an older park but well maintained. It's surprising that it is so close to such a busy metropolitan intersection, but still is very quiet. When visiting the DFW Metroplex, this is the place. Lots of beautiful trees and it's easy to find and return to the interstate. The only thing about it is some of the roads are a bit tight, but not enough to make it hard to maneuver and some of the sites require some leveling because they are on a hillside. This is all offset by the beauty of the place, the grounds keeping and the friendly staff. They not only escorted me to my site, but helped me pull in, lineup and level.

This is an excellent park. The Staff was great, it's easy to maneuver. Does require some levelling due to crowning for drainage. Very quiet and relaxing. We will use this for quick weekend excursions and anytime we want to visit Houston.

Stayed here two years ago and I must say this place is still one of my favorites. It's very clean, very quiet and a very relaxing place. You can't beat this park anywhere in the area and we have stayed in all of them. Owners very friendly and helpful, the park well-maintained and the atmosphere is great.

Stayed here as a Coast-to-Coast guest. This is a development for selling lots on or near the lake. Fairly new, so there isn't much in the way of landscaping. Positives; It's quiet and the staff is friendly, sites are easy to get into and they are level. Negatives: RV park not on or even looking at the lake, also gets a lot of in house traffic at all hours of the night. There is a pool near the clubhouse, but it's far from the RV park.First site I got into the 50 amp plug was missing, the next one had the water spigot missing. This place doesn't really qualify as a resort, if you want to do something besides get out in the country away from the noise. If you bring your boat to put on the lake, it might be a good fish camp.

A bit hard to find if you don't know where you are going, but it is the best place in Taos. The sites were level and clean. There is easy access to the main drag and not far from the old town plaza. This would be the place to stay if visiting Taos.

We were looking for nice, clean overnight stop and this is exactly what you get. The site was level and easy to enter. The owner was very helpful and the complimentary breakfast the next morning go the day off to a good start. I would recommend this place to anyone. It has a pool, exercise machine and a hot tub for those who would like to use them.

Probably the best in Santa Rosa. Easy to find and maneuver in. Typical Eastern New Mexico landscape (high desert). Was a very clean place and there is a restaurant on the premises and they will deliver to your rig. Also have a store and gift shop. The rest rooms and showers were among the cleanest I've seen. The only drawback is the rate is a bit high, but not exceedingly. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends.

You can't beat this one for a overnight stop going down the interstate. There needs to be more like it. Nice level sites, shade on a few and full hookups. Easy off and back on to the interstate.

Good one for visiting the Hot Springs area. Easy to find off 270 by-pass. Easy to navigate and quiet park. Well worth the money.

This was a great park for an overnight stay and even one to get away for a few days in the Nashville area. We stopped here on the way through Tennessee and it was very peaceful. I also got a kick out of the nine-hole golf course around the park.

This is a new park and is a work in progress. The sites were level, easy to get into and out of. Very long pull throughs, you put any size RV in these. The restrooms and showers are not yet built, but they are in the works. Access to the park is easy off of I-20 and the owner told me that he was planning more sites along with another access to the interstate. Right now this is a good overnight park and has great views of the surrounding countryside from its hilltop location. The sites were well thought out and they left enough shade trees to make shade at the sites, but not to make it difficult to maneuver. Very friendly owner and he is a RVer hisself, so he has planned out well. When this park gets everything in he has planned, this will be a great addition to stops along I-20.

This park has new owners and is in the process of building it up. They have a brand new restroom, shower and laundry and the pool isn't very old. The sites were fairly close to level and everyone in the park is friendly. There is a catch and release fishing pond and some limited access to the San Marcos River. A small, but very nice golf course is just across the bridge from the park and the town of Luling is within a mile with some very good Bar B Que resturants. Very easy to get to from I-10 and is situated within 45 miles of San Antonio, 30 miles to Two outlet malls in San Marcos, 35 miles to Camping World in New Braunfels. It is is the middle of the Texas Independence Trail with all kinds of shopping and sight seeing within a hour or less. There is a horse farm on the site and the owners are very accomodating and friendly.

This is a good one for going down the highway and spending the night or prowling the central Texas area or just getting away from it for a while. It's new and the lady running the show is great. The pull throughs are long enough to handling anything and stayed hitched up. They also are reasonably level so we didn't have to level. There is good shade and it's located on a working ranch. It has aswimming pool and a rec hall, plus they area building a restaurant. I would have given it a 10 because for my needs it would be. However, some feel the need for wifi and cable TV so I deducted a point for those.

This one is very nice. It's not hard to find and the place was very clean and well maintained. The office staff was very helpful and friendly and we checked in on a day when the weather wasn't nice, but they still were cheery and led us to our site. At first it looks to be a bit crowded, but there isn't any problem getting a big rig around in the park and even though you might be close to your neighbor, there isn't much noise. Plenty of Winter Texans use this one. There are some permanants and some park models, but every site is well landscaped and kept tidy. The only drawback is it's a bit pricey for the area, but I guess you get what you pay for and it does have the amenities.

Easy to navigate and easy to find. Just be sure to use the US 277 business exit when coming from the south. Sites were level, staff was friendly. There are many permanents, but they occupy the far side of the park and the rigs were well maintained and so were the grounds around them. This is a good park to use when in this area. For those with friends or family in the military (Sheppard AFB) this would serve you well.

The park was clean, sites were for the most part level, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the access is easy. You are next door to a Wal-Mart but I didn't notice any undue noise. This is a very good park for stopping on the way through on US 287 and if you need to visit this area. I have stayed here two or three times and haven't had a bad experience.

The scenery and atmosphere in this campground is without equal. It can be a bit tight maneuvering, but I have seen several large Class A's and even a 40' 5th wheel so anyone can fit. There is excellent trout fishing on site or one can drive in any direction and be on a stream or high country lake within minutes. The hosts are among the best in the business. They will know you by your first name in no time. Lots of repeat customers in this place. No live ins but a few who stay a month. Ponderosa is only open from May 1 to Oct.

Sites are easy to get into and exit. Clean, full hookups, cable TV and friendly hosts. What more could you look for when traveling down the interstate. Not far off the road and a Love's just across the street.

Haven't been here for two years, but I'm glad we came back. It's a very pleasant park. The highway noise can sometimes be bothersome, but not enough to detract from the serene setting. There's enough shade trees in most of the park to offer some relief from the sun but not too many to get in the way of maneuvering. We were there when two groups were having a rally, but the place is large enough that you don't notice each other. Good weekend getaway for use when in the Tyler and Athens area.

I was confused reading the extremes of the previous ratings but decided to try it anyway. If you are looking for palm tree lined streets and concrete pads with grass in between, then you won't like this park. If, however, you realize that you are in the high desert and that's the landscape you'll get, you will be happy. This is a prefectly good park, if only a bit overpriced. A good place to visit the Santa Fe area and it does have good views of the surrounding valley and mountain ranges. It can be hot and dusty during the summer days, but the evenings are cool. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again and couldn't think of a reason not to use the park.

Got stranded in Espanola while pickup was being fixed and pulled into Cottonwood. This is a good place to spend the night. Clean and friendly. Like the review before, you can get some goodies at the restaurant and no one bothers you in this quiet park.

Great little park. Nice and quiet with some of the best folks around running it. The owner greets you when you pull in and checks on you often. It's very easy to manuever in the park and all the sites are nice. Not a lot of shade at the sites, but the property is ringed with a forest and the White River. Good trout fishing on the grounds and guides are available. The whole area is full of friendly people and is a very beautiful part of the state.

Very quiet park within easy driving distance to Hot Springs. The only thing you have to watch is the approach. The road in is very steep and winding, be prepared to go to the lowest gears. Other than that, it's a nice park and one of the nicest in the area. It's also a Passport America park. Wouldn't hesitate to stop here for an overnight or an extended stay to explore the area.

This park is easy to find and easy to get into and out of. I have used it more than once for an overnight stop and each time the stay is satisfactory. It would be a good choice when staying in the area for some time. We had good service the last time. The breaker on our site kept going off and we used the after hours phone number. The call was handled quickly and we were taken care of in a professional manner.

Easy to find. Very clean; owners and workers are the best. Friendly and helpful. When full, it can be a bit crowded, but it is still a good overnight stop or as a base for exploring the area. Two antique shops in walking distance, golf course within walking distance.

This is a US Forest Service campground and it is immaculate. I almost hate to advertise it and keep it a secret. It has paved roads, paved sites and the grounds are very clean and maintained. Sites range from full hook up to primitive. Has small lake for fishing, boating (canoes, paddleboats, that type) and plenty of walking trails. Very quiet and in the middle of a national forest. There are also double sites if you are going with a friend that also has a trailer or RV. Several pull throughs and all of the back-ins are easy to get into for even the most novice backers. Staff and workampers are very helpful and cheerful. Doesn't have swimming pool, but does have roped off area and beach on lake.

Very well run campground. The people there are very helpful and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It is on the bluff above the Rio Frio and Garner State Park. Easy access to the river for paddle boating, wading, swimming, fishing or tubing. Beautiful hill country with plenty in the area to see. Nearest sizeable town is 30 miles (Uvalde) and the other towns within 15 miles or so are under 2,000 population. This is the place to get away for a while. Spent a week here, but if I had the time, I would have stayed longer. Good place for winter Texans.

The creek is lovely and I was there when most of the vegetation was dormant. When things blossom in this part of the state, it is pretty. Nice clear creek for fishing or canoeing. Very convient location for exploring the Hill country. Several wineries in the area as well as the Lyndon B Johnson ranch and historical park. Fredericksburg (a popular tourist location) is 30 miles away. Very friendly staff and the sites are very easy to get into. Backins along the creek are nice. Saw many winter Texans either heading down to the valley or going back north. Located on US 281. Some road noise.
